About This Event
Set against the stunning backdrop of Australia's Whitsunday region, this multi-distance trail festival celebrates its 20th year in 2026. What began in 2006 as a single 28km event by the Mackay Road Runners has evolved into a comprehensive trail running celebration now organized by the Whitsunday Running Club. The festival takes runners through the breathtaking Conway Circuit within Conway National Park, offering spectacular views of the Great Barrier Reef and the region's pristine landscapes. Held annually on the second weekend of September, the timing captures the Whitsundays at their most beautiful, with ideal conditions for exploring these iconic trails. All races culminate at the picturesque Airlie Beach foreshore, creating a festival atmosphere that encourages runners to extend their stay and fully experience this Queensland paradise. From ultra-distance challenges to family-friendly beach runs, the event welcomes runners of all ages and abilities.
