About This Event
The Shindig in the Shire has temporarily relocated from its traditional home to start from The Unicorn Inn in Telford, offering runners spectacular views of the Ironbridge Gorge and the world-famous Iron Bridge. The route weaves through the rich industrial heritage of Ironbridge and Jackfield before returning via the Silkin Way, showcasing both natural beauty and local history. This multi-lap format event provides flexible distance options, with runners completing one, two, or three circuits of the same scenic 8-mile loop. The course combines beautiful paths with moderate climbs, rewarding finishers with quality medals and the opportunity to refuel with ales and pub fare at The Unicorn Inn. The event maintains its community spirit despite the temporary venue change, with organizers hoping to return to Corfton in future editions.
