About This Race
This 13.1-mile course serves as the event's signature distance, delivering a comprehensive tour of the surrounding forest network. The loop format keeps runners oriented while providing sustained trail time through mixed terrain. Marked as beginner-friendly, this distance offers newcomers a substantial but manageable introduction to technical trail running.
The course follows Silver Falls State Park's Trail of Ten Falls system, starting from the South Falls day-use area. Runners traverse well-maintained singletrack trails through old-growth forest, with the signature feature being passages behind several waterfalls including South Falls and Lower South Falls. The terrain includes moderate climbs and descents, stone steps near waterfalls, and a mix of forest floor and maintained park trails. Due to 2026 storm damage, the course includes a bike path loop section to maintain proper distances while avoiding closed trail sections.

The race includes a unique 12-mile ruck challenge option requiring 35-pound packs or 40-pound vests, adding a military-inspired element to the trail running experience.
