About This Event
Set in the mountains of Tuscany's Pistoia province, the Montanaro Trail takes runners through the pristine landscapes of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. The event celebrates the natural beauty of this region with routes that wind through ancient forests, alongside crystal-clear streams, and up to mountain ridgelines offering panoramic views. Organized by ASCD Silvano Fedi in collaboration with UISP sportpertutti, this trail running festival embraces the warmth and simplicity of Tuscan tradition while challenging runners with technical terrain. The event has built a devoted following among Italian trail runners who appreciate both the demanding courses and the exceptional volunteer support that characterizes each edition. The 2026 edition is scheduled for May 10th, with registration opening November 15th, 2025. Beyond the competitive distances, the event includes a Nordic walking option, making it accessible to a broader community of outdoor enthusiasts seeking to experience the Apennine wilderness.
