About This Event
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Peak District, this spring race follows the historic Monsal Trail, a former Midland Railway line that has been converted into one of Derbyshire's most scenic running routes. The traffic-free trail takes runners through four atmospheric tunnels and across the spectacular Monsal viaduct, surrounded by the rolling landscapes of the Derbyshire Dales. Offered over a weekend in late March, runners can choose between half marathon and 10K distances on both Saturday and Sunday, making it an ideal training race for spring marathon preparation. The event welcomes runners of all abilities and provides a friendly atmosphere alongside the dramatic Peak District scenery. Starting from the old Bakewell station site, the course showcases why the Monsal Trail is considered one of the most iconic trails in the region, offering breathtaking views while maintaining an accessible, undulating profile that suits both seasoned runners and those new to trail running.
