The course incorporates stream crossings, rocky ridgeline sections, and passages through terrain where visibility can shift rapidly with weather changes common to this coastal mountain range.

The course follows traditional shepherding paths through the Kaçkar range, linking high alpine zones with forested valleys. Technical sections require careful foot placement, and the remote character of the terrain means runners may go extended periods between encounters with support crews or spectators. Navigation skills prove valuable in areas where trail markings face harsh weather exposure.
