About This Event
The Heuvelland Marathon unfolds through the rolling landscape of South Limburg, offering runners a distinctive point-to-point journey through one of the Netherlands' most scenic regions. Starting at the Drielandenpunt (Three Country Point) in Vaals—the highest point in the Netherlands—the race follows a predominantly downhill route through the Heuvelland National Park before finishing in the charming village of Gulpen. This natural marathon combines varied terrain including asphalt roads, wide forest paths, and occasional singletrack sections as runners traverse the undulating countryside. The course is meticulously marked with large orange directional signs, ensuring clear navigation through the diverse landscape. The event has grown steadily in popularity, with the previous edition welcoming 1,300 participants and creating a vibrant atmosphere both on the course and at the finish line celebration in Gulpen.
