About This Event
The Hampshire Hoppit offers three scenic trail races through the beautiful Hampshire countryside, following historic footpaths near Watership Down. Each race follows a clearly marked, single-lap route with friendly marshals throughout, showcasing sweeping views across three counties from some of Hampshire's highest points. The courses primarily follow sections of two ancient footpaths — the Wayfarers Walk and the Harrow Way — with occasional quiet country road crossings. Starting and finishing near Watership Down on the Hampshire/Berkshire border, runners experience quintessentially English countryside terrain that balances accessibility with genuine trail running challenges. The event stands out for its thoughtful organization and distinctive finisher rewards, including custom engraved beer glasses sized to match race distance and post-race fills of locally brewed 'Hoppit' ale from Loddon Brewery. The community atmosphere and attention to detail have earned consistent praise from participants across the running spectrum.
