About This Event
Gränna StadsTrail offers a unique blend of urban start and natural trail running through the scenic landscapes surrounding Lake Vättern in Sweden. The race begins in the heart of Gränna's charming town square, leading runners along the crystal-clear waters of Vättern, past the picturesque village of Röttle, and through the beech forests of Västanå nature reserve. The course showcases the dramatic topography of the Eastern Vättern slopes, with the longer distances ascending to the summit of Grännaberget for panoramic views across the lake to Västergötland. The mixed terrain combines fast-running asphalt sections with winding singletrack through both deciduous and coniferous forests, creating what organizers call a "StadsTrail" - a city-to-trail experience that captures the essence of the region. With three distance options available, the event caters to runners seeking everything from a scenic introduction to trail running to a more challenging backcountry experience, all finishing back at Gränna's historic town square.
