About This Event
This nighttime trail event kicks off Queensland's trail running season at the base of Mt Beerwah in the Glass House Mountains National Park. Runners navigate the course by headlamp through the cool night air, making it an ideal introduction for those new to nocturnal trail running. The race takes place around the base of Mt Beerwah, one of the iconic Glass House Mountains. According to Aboriginal legend, these volcanic peaks represent a family story where Tibrogargan is the father, Beerwah the pregnant mother, and Coonowrin the son who betrayed his parents. The event offers three distance options with generous cutoff times, all finishing by midnight. Run Queensland emphasizes environmental responsibility with their no-cup policy at checkpoints, requiring runners to carry their own drinking vessels. The course is well-marked with reflective flagging tape and directional arrows, with comprehensive checkpoint support providing water, electrolyte, and food throughout the night.
