About This Event
Set in the majestic Black Mountains of Wales, the Beast of the Blacks offers a challenging trail running experience through some of the most spectacular terrain in the region. Starting and finishing in the historic market town of Crickhowell, Powys, runners traverse forest trails, mountain tops, river crossings, and ancient churches while taking in outstanding mountain views throughout the course. The event attracts runners from elite to beginner levels, with generous cut-off times ensuring accessibility across different abilities. Well-stocked checkpoints cater to all dietary requirements, and the course is fully marked with marshal support. Spring timing showcases the mountains at their finest, with red kites and abundant wildlife accompanying runners on their journey through this harsh but stimulating landscape.
