About This Event
Set in the rolling countryside of Derbyshire's Amber Valley, the Amberaid and Petit Raid offers runners a choice between two distinct trail adventures near the eastern edge of the Peak District. Both routes start from Ashover Village Hall and wind through what the organizers describe as some of the most pleasant woodland trails in the UK, featuring expansive views across the rural splendor of the region. The event follows a largely unmarked route philosophy, with GPX files and route notes provided for navigation, though organizers do mark the trickier sections. Checkpoints are well-stocked with water throughout, and food is available at key points. The race operates with a strict cutoff system to ensure runner safety, and medical coverage is provided both on course and at race headquarters. First Light Adventure has designed this event to showcase the quieter side of Derbyshire's trail running opportunities, offering both seasoned ultra runners and those seeking a substantial trail challenge a well-supported experience through the Amber Valley's diverse terrain.
