Set within the dramatic volcanic caldera of Sete Cidades on São Miguel Island in the Azores, the 7 Cidades Ultimate Trail offers runners a unique opportunity to traverse one of Portugal's most spectacular natural landscapes. The race takes place around the rim and interior of this ancient volcano, showcasing the famous twin lakes (Lagoa Verde and Lagoa Azul) and connecting runners with the raw volcanic terrain that defines the Azores. With five distinct race options ranging from a discovery trail to the challenging 40-kilometer volcanic circuit, the event caters to runners of all abilities while maintaining its focus on the extraordinary setting.
