About This Event
The 3D Rotorua Multisport Festival takes place annually over the Queen's Birthday long weekend in June, attracting participants from across New Zealand to experience some of the country's premier paddling lakes, running trails, and mountain biking terrain. Based at the Blue Lake Reserve in Rotorua's stunning lake district, this festival offers something for everyone, from complete beginners to weekend warriors and elite competitors. The event showcases Rotorua's exceptional off-road recreation opportunities across multiple disciplines and distances. With courses designed to challenge participants as little or as much as they wish, the festival maintains an inclusive atmosphere while delivering quality competition. The central hub location at Blue Lake Reserve makes transitions straightforward for participants and provides an ideal spectator experience. Beyond its recreational appeal, the festival doubles as the New Zealand Secondary Schools Multisport Championships, adding a competitive edge to the weekend's festivities. The beautiful lake and forest setting of Whakarewarewa Forest provides a spectacular backdrop for the various events.
